Brandy (Grimm) Smith

Pledge Class: 1994

Big Sis: Kim

Dates of attendance at the University of Idaho: 1994-1996, 2003-2005

What was your major/degree? Undecided the first time around (although I was leaning towards education) and I received my Master's in Business Education the 2nd time around.

Where were you born? Provo, UT

What high school did you graduate from? Salmon High School in Salmon, Idaho.

Did you attend another school after the Uof I? Between my 2 UI stints, I graduated from the University of Montana - Western in Dillon, MT with my Bachelor's in Computer Technology and Administrative Science (Business).

Where are you currently living? I just moved to the Boise area this summer, and I'm currently living in Nampa.

What do you do for a living? I am a teacher at Marsing High School. This is my first year teaching, so it's a full-time job and then some. I teach keyboarding classes to freshman, and I also have a multimedia class and the yearbook. I'm also one of the Junior class advisors, so we were in charge of the Homecoming dance and now we're working on Prom.

Are you Married? I am very recently married to a wonderful man, Jeff. We met in October and were married on New Year's Eve. Much quicker than my first marriage, where we dated for 5 years. But, when it's right, it's right. :)

Do you have children? I have one daughter, Katarina, who is 5, and 2 step-children. Gabe is 7, and Jennifer is 12.

What are you hobbies? Ha-ha. That's assuming I have time for anything besides work! In the few spare moments I do get, I enjoy reading, playing games (just about anything), dancing (I was on a clog team in Salmon, and I met Jeff at a church singles dance). I've been trying to get caught up on my scrapbooking, but it'll have to wait until summer, I'm afraid.

What projects are you currently working on? Actually, I'm just trying to make it through my first year teaching. :) I'm still going through a custody fight with my ex, and we're about to start up a new battle with my husband's ex. Doesn't leave much time for anything fun. :(

Tri Delta Discussion Group

Welcome! I am very pleased to see that so many over you are contributing to this Blog so far it seems pretty successful. I hope that we can continue to get some more people to post. It seems that we have a few holdouts (people who have joined yet have not posted) I am looking forward to hearing from you and seeing your photos.

I was lamenting the fact that the Blog is kind of restrictive in the area of message board style feed back. Sure everyone can post but the post are organized in chronological order not by topic and the comments are sort of limiting. This is a excitement and a work in progress so as an extension of the Blog I have created a discussion group for us.

http://groups.google.com/group/Theta-Tau-Delta-Delta-Delta

this is more of a message board format and it will allow anyone to start their own thread. Hopefully this will lead to some lively discussions. I have started a tread about Good Memories from you Tri Delta Years so if you have something that you would like to contribute that’s the place. I am hoping that Kelsie will start a Thread and share some of those “Crazy Stories” she alluded to...

I will put a link to the google groups page under the links section on this Blog.

The only draw back to the google groups is that you have to sign up to post only the process is far less extensive than signing up to post on the Blog and you don’t have to be invited to post on google groups. Anyone can read what has been written so check it out and if you want to contribute it only takes a few seconds to sign up with google and then you can start posting on the group site. Simply click the “join this group” link at the top of the page then you can either “sart a new topic” or “reply” to my topic.

I appreciate everyone who has shared email address with me in the effort to get out the word about the Blog. Thanks to everyone for sharing about your lives.

Email address: emily_elisabeth@hotmail.com and my blog is www.emilyandmyleslife.blogspot.com.

How to post a Photo

Bloger.com will not host photos for us, so in order to post a photo you must host it somewhere else and then link your post to it. These are the instructions on how to do that.

find a place to host your photos, I am going to recommend www.photobucket.com because its free and relatively easy to use. There are a lot of sites that offer this service, and if you know how to do it you can host photos on any server. This is how to post photos using photobucket.

1) go to www.photobucket.com and sign up for an account

2) once logged in go to “my album” upload photos to their site.

3) Scroll down a bit on the my album page and you will see all the photos that you have uploaded . Select the text that is next to the word “Tag” it will be several lines of HTML code

you need to paste this text into your post. Voila! You will have a photo in your post. If you paste it at the top of you text the photo will appear before your photo and if you paste it after your text the photo will appear after.

*note if you delete just the part of the tag that says (border="0" alt="Image hosting by Photobucket") it will get rid of the line under the photo that says "Image hosting by Photobucket"

How to create a Post

Anyone can post a comment, however, To Create a Post on this Blog you must be a “Team Member” and in order to be Team Member you must be invited by either me or another existing Team Member. If you have already been invited to become a Team Member you will have received an email. I have invited everyone that I have email address for, so if you have not yet been invited please send me an email (emily_elisabeth@hotmail.com). You will also have to sign up at blogger.com. and get a user name and password the email you receive should prompt you on how to do this.

1) Once you have a username and password sign in at blogger.com you will be taken to the “Dashboard” and click on the “Theta Tau chapter of Delta Delta Delta” link.

2) You will be taken to the Posting section of the Blog. Click the “Create” link in the upper left corner.

3) Title you post you full name and type your information under the compose section. When you finished hit the orange “Publish Post” button.

Its that Easy! The hardest part is getting signed up, after that it is a really straight forward and easy to use tool. I don’t want anyone to not post because they don’t want to sign up or because navigating the tool is too complicated. So if this applies to you please send me an email with what you want to post (and if you like a photo) and I will post it for you.

As I have done, you can post a photo with you text, this is a little more complicate. Please see the Post titled “How to Post a Photo”

Rules of the Game

Rules for Posters:
1) You must be a alumnae member of the Theta Tua chapter of Delta Delta Delta (University of Idaho) to post. If your from another chapter and you have a legitimate reason for wanting to post please email me.

2) Please Title your post with your full name. If you re now married and have taken a different name please include our maiden name so we know who you are. For example my post will be titled “Emily Weaver Brown”

3) Tell us where you are living and what you are doing but also include the year that you pledged and contact information such as an email address and if you have a web page or blog you can also share that. For safety reasons I would not suggest that you put down personal contact information like phone number or address . If people want to contact you they can email you for that information.

4) If you want to respond to someone else’s post please do so in the comments section and not by creating a new post.

5) Please no inappropriate language. I maintain the right to edit or delete any post or comment that is deemed inappropriate. (I don’t think this will be a problem)

Try to address the Following points in your post but please feel free to get creative!
